Yay thanks seaofstars and Nutella for the awesome comments!It's so nice to hear good things about my illustrations. It's what I love doing-and what I'm in school for.

I make the doll first and then use graphics paper that is thick enough with  withstand lots of pressure and erasing and such over top of it to design the outfits over top. the paper is very see-through so it's really easy to use. then I photo copy/print the pages and watercolor them. it's a fun process. I made japanese gothic lolita ones for the subculture swap but no one ever saw them cause my partner was a flaker and never showed them. if I can find pics of those I'll post em too. I'm slightly obsessed with paperdolls actually. I have collected them since I was 7!
