Maybe this is more art than craft, but I had a wonderful time sitting and painting this mug. I was working at one of those "paint-your-own ceramic" places at the time, so I took home some supplies and came up with this. It's a series of postcards of my favorite places montaged onto the mug.
(note the website in the background too  Wink )

What do you think?

That's really awesome! I want to paint mugs for some Xmas gifts, but I can't do it at a paint your own mug place because i need to do like ten...that's really pricey by me, so I was planning to buy some paints and stuff. Are there any brands your recommend? Glazes?

And I love the idea by the way. It's really adorable!

Ummm....*thinks hard about the paint we used*
I honestly can't remember...but most places use the same 2 brands. Check out a website on ceramics and you'll probably find lots of recs.
How will you fire it? Because most places won't let you bring it outside materials to fire.

Glazes, underglazed and undercoats can get pretty expensive.  I reccomend Gare undercoats and underglazes, depending on if you are using bisque or greenware.
Hope that helps!
