I used Glampyres basic how-to to make this, but I knitted it as is, ( rather than cutting up the middle after knitting in the round!)  NO SEAMING!! Well, except for little holes in the armpits.

It's knit in wool-ease which is a little itchy, is there any way to make it less itchy?

It was going to have a hood, but then I got bored and just sort of stopped...so the collar is more of a stunted hood.

I really love knitting sweaters like this, since I can try them on as I go and knit it to fit me perfectly!

Wow, I love that.  I want one!  The little cables on the collar are so cute, too.

Thanks everyone!  It's really quite easy and fast to knit, since finishing is minimal.

And my mom actually made the quilt. That one is a simple everyday one, but she makes BEAUTIFUL art quilts.  I can't do it, I craft much too haphazardly.  I don't like measuring and making straight lines and all that.

If the wool ease is too itchy you could try lining the sweater with light-weight fabric. I'm not sure if that would be too hard. Great sweater!! Smiley

wow- i am inspired!  i would be so proud to have made and to wear such a great sweater!

and as for itchy- a handweaving shop i know of swears by washing itchy items in shampoo, then conditioning them with hair conditioner.  i tried this with some hats i knit, but found the conditioner scent was quite strong, even after lots of rinses.  the fibers are itchy because they don't lay flat, and the conditioner is supposed to improve this.  i thought it worked alright, but would purchase scent-free conditioner next time.

it's worth a try to get more wear out of that super sweater!
