Swap name: Knit/Crochet/Craft Book & Magazine Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: Mojo
Sign-up date range: 10/18 - 11/9 (long signup, I know, but I'm on vacation early Nov.)
Date to send items by: 11/25

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): Nope, the more the merrier.

Non-U.S. participants allowed?  US & Canada only. (given this swap's potential for high shipping costs, we're going to forgo overseas shipping this time around)

All ages allowed? Or 18+? all ages.

Organizer is aware of current list of "suspended traders"
list and will not allow those members to participate: YES

Organizer meets the 4 conditions for swapping and will make sure that every participant meets these conditions: YES

Details of swap:

Each participant will submit via PM the titles of three (3) of books they are willing to swap (for swap purposes, three magazines = one book).  Books can be knit/crochet or other craft related (i.e. jewelry-making, other fiber arts, paper crafts, etc).  Your fearless organizer (Mojo) will compile the list of available items and post it for all participants to shop from.  Each participant will then PM me with their top five choices ranked in order of preference (each participant is eligible to receive the same number of items they submitted.  In other words, submit three books, get three books back).  I will then sort through the preferences and let each person know which books/magazines to send to which participant.  Every attempt will be made to match swappers with their top three preferred items.  In the event of multiple requests for the same book, the recipient will be randomly selected.  In the event no preferences are indicated, that participant will receive randomly selected items.

Note: this swap has the potential to generate higher shipping costs than other swaps as you may be shipping to three individuals.  Please consider this before signing up.
...

If you want to participate, PM Mojo with the following info:

Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Willing to ship to Canada?
Please list the titles and authors of the three books you are submitting for swap (3 magazines = 1 book):

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO ORGANIZER VIA PRIVATE MESSAGE AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also, please read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.

Good question.  You have to list as many as you want to receive and are willing to send.  I think, in order to keep things simple (and limit postage costs), three is a good maximum.  So, list 3, get 3, send 3.  Or, list 1, get 1, send 1.

Bear in mind, if two or more people want the same item, the recipient will be randomly selected.  So, submitting more than one item increases your chances of getting something you really want in return.

Yay!  Three people in so far and a few more expressing interest!  When we get a decent book list started, I'll post titles-- maybe that will generate even more interest.

Sounds intriguing.. what if no one wants your book? Do you not get to play after all?

Even if the book you submit is nobody's first choice, it will end up with a new home and you still get a new book.

I like the idea of a list with current titles that have been submitted.  If I saw more of what titles ar there already, I might be forced to join. Grin Grin
