Updated update:

The following have received their partner's "before" bag as of 11/15/2005:

Amaranth
grasshopper
glitteratti
icrispyi *
MadelBlue
PinkMafia
gingerquilts
Rackycoo
Sparklehorse
Sporkx71
Stifflersmom - shipped completed bag 11/15

The following are still pacing back & forth in front of their mailboxes:

CosmicCranberry
girlwonder
modpodge
jace_miller
tagurity
Moilulu
Loobylash

The deadline for shipping the before bags was Saturday 11/12, so many are still in the loving care of the post office. Let's send out good wishes for safe and speedy arrivals.

The revampified bags should be back to their homes by December 2nd.

(Please excuse my need to be hyper-organized and posting all these boring details  Smiley )

Try a little area with a glue gun, if that's what you prefer working with. If that doesn't work, go with E6000 glue. I bet that works better with the vinyl.

Good luck!

E6000 works great on vinyl (thanks again for the tip Racky!), Elmer's paint pens work well on it too. At least on textured vinyl, haven't tried it on a patent-leather finish, tho. Good luck! Can't wait to see the final results!

I can't wait to see what you end up doing! Was a before picture posted?

It's always scary to get out the glue and mess with someone else's bag. I've got my fingers crossed for you!!

Don't be afraid - Just go for it!
The idea was for people to get bags from the thrift store so there wouldn't be a sentimental attachment to them if something went wonky, because accidents can happen. Not that that gives permission to be crazy-reckless, but that everyone would have freedom to do amazing things.
You can do it!

(amazing how many Nike slogans I got in there, huh?)
