three beanies

i recently crocheted a beanie for a friend... the cold weather is taking forever to get to Houston, but hey, never too early for a beanie, right? 

well, this friend told other friends of his that i made it and i've sold two others made by request...   here are in order the three beanies i have made:

(not me, but my head-model-friend)


this next one was too big and not quite long enough for the person, so i made it smaller and added 2 extra rows on the bottom... still the same general style as the others, but not quite identical.




these suckers are pretty dense and stand up by themselves...
like i said, i've sold the last two, but i don't know if my pricing is good. 
   -the yarn is 20% wool/80% acrylic  super bulky yarn
   -each hat takes a little under one skein, priced at $5 a skein
   -about 2-3 hours to make one

so i'm wondering, what would you pay for a hat like these?  thanks for looking!

They're really cute, and pretty similar to how I make my regular beanies! As far as pricing goes, I'm not sure.  I'm still having a problem with that myself. :p

I would charge at least $25. I mean, they're one-of-a-kind.

Anyway, I like your hats. You color choice is really great, and the patterns work well. I would say at least $15 for a hat like that, depending on the yarn.

thanks for your feedback!  i'm currently selling at $12 unless they ask for a crazy color, then up to $17...  i'd love to sell for more, like $20 but most of the guys buying are students at my university.

last night i got a request for an american flag one.... sheesh!

I like your beanies! How did you figure out the number of stitches you needed for the rounds? I'm using Lionbran Thick and Quick to try to crochet my first hat and my two attempts thus far have resulted in something way too big for my head. I can't seem to find a simple hat pattern for super bulky yarns that tells me how to make a hat that fits my head well. thanks1

Very cute! I love the color combos.

I don't know much about pricing. I suppose I would pay $15-20, although I'm pretty cheap. Most college students are poor anyway.
