purplefluffycow I've not neccesarily got specific know how for this, but I'm a trained teacher, and PA so I'm good at getting people moving!

I reckon a specific place to organise it would be good, and my vote goes for LiveJournal, as it's what I use!  it also has the advantage that we can have a specific community for it, everyone can post, if the community members and maintainer make good use of tags then we'll be able to keep track of topics well.  People who have a paid account (not me, though I plan to by the end of the month*) can post polls to gauge opinions.  There are several established groups of crafters on there, including craftgrrl_uk.

Do you want me to go set up an LJ for it?

You sound like you know whats what which is great, and having some one whos good at motivating people is extra great  =)

I'd vote for My Space just because I don't yet have an account on livejournal yet, but either is fine  =)

Wow.  I just popped onto this topic to see if there were any fairs going on in my area soon, and I find this!  I'm so excited!  I'm new to Craftster, and also new to the UK.  I'm an American living in Bicester, just on the border of Oxforshire and Northamptonshire.  I don't know the geography or how to get anywhere (yet), but I'm so very willing to help out and join in on any plans being made.

The first idea that pops to mind is to have a website promoting the event hosted by http://www.electricembers.net.  They provide service at a very inexpensive rate.

I do crocheting and paper arts, some sewing and textile arts, and I'm starting to get into glass painting and embroidery.  But I also used to own a small business selling handmade jewelry (made by me) and all-natural bath and body items.  I know a bit about business (well, I know about how to run one in the US, anyway) and I'm more than happy to lend my knowledge.  I'd also be happy to just follow along and show up at the fair to sell things.  If you can put up with the stupid American who needs detailed directions just to get out of her driveway.  Smiley  I'm also a stay-at-home mum so I have some free time.  I've been thinking about setting up an Ebay or Etsy store, but I like this idea much, much better!

I also think it's a great idea to set up a Livejournal or Myspace group for discussion.

I've joined the group, but MySpace won't let new members post until they've been a MySpace member for at least 7 days.  Sad  So I'm there, but not quite visible as yet.

Oh, wait, I guess I hadn't joined the group yet, just signed up for MySpace.  Now I've joined.  Smiley  But I still can't post for a week.  You're right, PFC: MySpace is a big fat meanie.
