You guys are all so creative...you've totally inspired me to make a couple things this week (when i should be packing!  i move thursday!)

I gave up those long checkbook wallets a few years ago when I couldn't fit it into one of those cute little purses.  I started using a wallet for money, liscense ande essentials....but try as i may, cards keep sneaking their way back into my purse and then my wallet.  all this tyvek talk got me thinking i should make a wallet for the credit cards so my wallet only has the essentials and i can carry everything in my cute little purses.Smiley

This is my first post....hope this whole picture thing works!

Sorry, what's a tyvek ...thing? I love the idea though. The credit card slots in my wallet are loose and I have to search for my cards at the bottom of my bag. Thanks!

OMG!  My nasty plastic card-holder thingy died a long time ago and I never managed to find a replacement.  Thought about making one out of vinyl but it's no fun to sew.  I'm making a tyvek one right now! (If I can find an old envelope).  Thanks so much for the inspiration!

(Sherrily -- Tyvek is the tough yet papery material that Priority Mail envelopes are made of.  You know? :)

hey I finished mine!  here's a pic:

I added a clear vinyl window on the outside to hold a photo of my son :)

where's a good place to get vinyl for these wallet/bag type purposes? whenever i make wallets i just stick clear packing tape together. it works, it's just not particularly strong or attractive. oh, and about how much does the stuff cost?

I get vinyl at my local craft or fabric store -- JoAnn's and Value Craft both carry it.  It costs $2 or $3 a yard, I think.  Comes in various thicknesses and sometimes in different colors!

Have fun,

Kara
