I made this flange or ravioli style pillow for my niece to add a little bit of Halloween decoration to her college dorm room.  The design is copyright 2000 by DKT Originals, Bentonville, AR.  The design was stitched on 18-count Aida cloth.  Most of the stitches are cross stitch, with the vine being backstitch and the border is Smyrna cross.  The ghost is a button that was sewn on.

On all crafts I make for my nieces, I add a little label made of Tyvek and drawn with Sharpies:

Thanks for taking a look Smiley

Really cute.  Good job.  Your niece will be thrilled to a)get mail in college and b)receive something so cute and handmade with love!

Thanks, KCGal and loves2experiment

The original plan was to mail it to her, but she happened to be home on fall break this weekend so it was hand delivered.  She loved it!  Grin  Now I'll have to mail her some more cookies.

loves2, do I need to adopt you?  Wink

That turned out so awesome! Was that all in a kit or did you have to get everything separately? I really like the label too, I wish people would sent me stuff like that when I was in college.

Your nieces are lucky! *wistful*  I would love to be 'adopted' but I already 'belong' to 7 aunts.  Can you believe that none of them craft?!?  They do cook and bake though...so I get some really awesome care packages in the mail Grin

Thank you, shoegirlSmiley

The chart, floss, Aida and button came as a cute little kit in a perscription bottle.   It had a cute label and said something to the effect that it was to relief anxiety and other maladies associated with a stitcher being separated from their needlework.  There were no finishing instructions, so I decided to make the little pillow from some cute Halloween fabric from Wally World.  Made some cording to go around the edges to really give it some pop.  (Look closely in the button picture and you'll see pillow sans cording... no pop.  Undecided)

Aw, I'm so sorry you don't have crafty aunties.  I can't imagine not crafting.  But at least they send you goodies and that counts, too!
