i'm using debbie bliss merino aran in color # 325102 (which ends up being a light beige color). it's pretty nice to work with, but if this project doesn't work out i'm going to think that this yarn is cursed! it was giffted to me when i first started knitting and has been frogged from a few projects already. don't you just hate it when that happens to nice yarn?

I've got the main body portion done, and I'm starting on the collar-bits...   and I fear I may run out of yarn before I can do the sleeves. T_T

Do you think it would look funny if I made the sleeves a different color?

I finally picked mine up again. Just two more inches of ribbing, a little bit of seaming and I'll be done! So much for a quick knit, it's taken me 2 months. Stupid college and Christmas presents. Bleh. Well I'll post pictures when I finish which will hopefully be this month...

I think having the sleeves a different color would be totally up to you and depend on your personal style, Maryam Ovaci.

How's everyone doing? 

I'm almost to my 4th ball of Rowan's Calmer and am worried about running out.  In fact, I know I won't have enough yarn to finish this and I bought a whopping 700 yards.  My gauge is 5 sts per inch in the mock rib.  I think it may be because calmer is so springy; I've heard that sometimes you need more than usual if using Calmer to replace another yarn.  I just wish I had known to over-estimate so much!  Julsey had mentioned something around 330 yards, don't quote me, so I thought I'd be fine with 700!  I'm about 10 inches into the mock rib.  The yarn I'm using is in a discontinued colorway, so wish me luck!

if i'm right julsey used two skeins of simply soft (at 330 yards a piece) so i think she used 660. i hope you have enough /=

I finished mine tonight... this took me soooo long because of other projects meanwhile...



I used purple worsted weight yarn out of a bargin bin at lewiscraft (100% unknown fibres, but was actually pretty soft!), which is sold in lbs,(1lb for $7.00) not yards, so I have no idea how many yds it took... but it only cost me $4.66 to make!
