First post *yay for me!*  been lurking FOREVER but had to post, I am way excited about this.  Started last night and am already at 6 inches on the body.  I decided on stockinette for the first go 'round.  Oh yes, there will be another.  I'm using the Caron Simply Soft in lite blue leftover from a baby blanket.  Can't wait to finish! I never knit anything for myself, especially this time of year!  But all those mittens are on hold!!!

Another longtime lurker, few time poster :-)  My mom gave me 4 skeins of pink Debbie Bliss Merino DK - seems my sis is having a boy not a girl (oops), so I've been looking for something to do with the yarn, and happened across this shrug Saturday night at 1am.  I was up til 3am swatching, and ended up having to buy size 9 needles the next morning (I had 7s and 11s at home and neither one was right, so I split the difference.  I kept the 2x2 ribbing, but decided to use a garter stitch for the body (no patience for the mock rib - sorry!).  I'm about 4" into the body and am LOVING it!  I'll definitely post pics when done (oooo - my first project on craftster - yeah!).

As a total aside, not sure if anyone else is from the North Hollywood/Valley Village area, but if you are, go check out the window of Voila` at the corner of Magnolia and Whitsett - there's a blue shrug, with sleeves that looks remarkably similar to this one...  Hmmmmm...  From my car at night, it looked like it had a kind of "bobble" stitch, but was so excited, I had to share  Grin

I'm joining in!!  I just picked up some Rowan Calmer in a pretty red named 'armour' #469.  I'm going to do my measurements and hopefully cast on tonight!

That looks wonderful!!!  What weight yarn is everyone using...I am just wondering!  I am still working on my Vogue Felted Rose Bag but as soon as I am done I am starting this shrug!!!  I was so excited about this and the capelet that Julsey designed I accidentally posted on my KAL about the projects.

i'm using debbie bliss merino aran... so a bit of a heavy worsted weight? the first one i tried out was a bit big so i redid my measurements and cast on 162 stitches on size 8 needles... hopefully this one will fit properly Smiley

Got about 15" of the body done so far, had to frog and cast on again last tuesday so it's going pretty quickly thus far. This pattern is so much fun! I've already gotten a ton of people stopping me on the way to class to ask what I'm working on Cheesy I can't wait to finish this!
