Mock rib should lie pretty flat, so pin off about 3-4" of your sample and count the stiches at the top of the needle. You can measure the ribbing you have done, both stretched and relaxed to see if it's wide enough.

Oh man. I had to frog it.  It was two times too small.  Soozeq thank you for your help.  I'd hate to think how I'd feel if I had knit the whole thing.  Oh well, time to start over. Embarrassed

I hate photos of myself. And being all squinty into the sun and smirking at the man doesn't help. Cheesy

A good use for a pound of old acrylic don't you think?
