no, i didn't make a newspaper one. i probably won't, since it wouldn't hold much. as it is, we're emptying out the cardboard one every couple weeks. recycling rules!

I didn't read through the entire thread but once the sharpie problem came up i immediately thought of a solution

to keep the sharpie work from going gross overtime, you could draw your design like usual then take it over to kinkos and get it color copied (twice)

then you can file both the original and copied design in case mom spilled some crap on the paper and ruined it or something happened to the copied design.

also the copy would look just as it did they day you made it  Grin

you could also use your copy to make some cool bins for other people

you are so awesome! I love those!  I have been using cardboard boxes (leftover from the last time I moved) and put in plastic bags from random stores.  We only know what goes in each box by looking - and memory.  I'm going to make something like yours (as soon as we move again)!!  Maybe we'll actually have pick-up recycling in our new neighborhood!  As it is, we take our recycling down to the local Farmer's Market ourselves.

My recycling stuff is taking over my garage!
I eventually want to get some kind of containers to separate them in, and this is a great idea.
It's no wonder your mom got all excited over them, they look wonderful!
