Here are some new additions to my growing amigurumi collection. The Autumn-inspired bears are made of alpaca--so very soft and fuzzy!  Finally a way to play with somewhat expensive yarn and not spend next month's rent!

Finally, I started out making a bear with Red Heart Baby Teri (which wasn't as hard to work with as I'd feared), but soon discovered that it looked more like a lamb, especially when I added the Spring-y green felt and pink embroidery.  So, it became a Lamby Bear!

Hope you like!  Smiley

I also like the one with hat and scarf and totaly agree with the price of yarn! wow its going up like gas. Every time I see them trying to sell me some foofy hand full of yarn and I do mean hand full of yarn for like 8 bucks I just can't belive how expensive yarn has become ........it has jumped the last couple years

Thanks, everyone!

These were so much fun and so easy to do.  I highly recommend just winging some little creatures of your own.  They can be made very quickly because they tend to be so small.  For the longest time, I felt married to patterns, but when I finally just started playing with ideas it was so freeing.  Again, because of their size, if you get most of the way through and decide you don't like the result, it's no big loss of time or effort to unravel and start over.  I realized I stressed way too much over patterns and keeping up with where I was in the pattern--totally incompatible with the idea of crochet as a leisure activity.  I thought coming up with my own stuff would be more stressful, but it was quite the opposite.  Like the hat and scarf for the light orange bear--I just sat down to play with some yarn I never could figure out what to do with and out came the
bear-y ensemble in no time!

Anyway, just my few words of encouragement and thanks for the kind responses!

I love the bears.  And thanks for your encouraging post on winging it.  I love to figure out how to do stuff on my own.  I might get brave and make some.
