i started work on this project last wednesday, and finished up last night. it's a quick knit and i'm pretty much in love with it!

.

the waistline has decided to be a rolled edge, even with the garter stitch edging, but i really like the effect. i used brown sheep lamb's pride bulky as called for in the pattern, but if i were to do this project again, i'd probably use valley yarns' shelburne, since it's unbelievably soft and very affordable.

That is gorgeous! I love the colors and cannot believe you knit it so quickly.  I have not attempted fair isle yet!

That looks great! I've been wanting to make it but I'm a little afraid that it would look bulky. But yours definitely looks like it fits well, and I love your choice of colors Smiley

IT looks so cute!  Ok, I just have to say I am so envious of you knitters who can whip out a sweater in a few days.  I can do hats and scarves, But a sweater!!  I've been working on this sweater for months.  It is going to end up being my life's work.  Yours looks awesome.

Ooh, that's very beautiful.  What Lamb's Pride colors did you use?  How long have you been knitting?  Gorgeous job!

thank you so much! i've been knitting for about two years now -- my mom taught me how during a long spring break that was too snowy to let me go anywhere.

as for colors, i used aubergine for the main color, and medieval red, mulberry, and victorian pink for the contrasting colors. after seeing the suggested colors in person, i decided to use colors that all had a similar cool red base tone. that way, the colors unified beautifully!

This is so impressive! I haven't attempted a sweater or fair-isle yet, so when I see finished projects it's like magic to me. great job!
