I don't care if I get a used one. I'll send a nice condition used copy. I've got lots of ideas for the crafty book related additions....

My library had their used book sale this weekend, and though I got tons of great children's/adolescent books, I didn't find the book I wanted to send--sad tale! I'm pretty sure that we all would not mind receiving a used book, but if not, please make sure to let your partner know once you're assigned in FIVE days! (: Anyone started crafting their addition yet?

I bought some resin this weekend. I can't wait to see what you do with it! I've never used it before.

What is resin, and what does one do with it?

It's a two-part liquid that hardens like a coat of polyurethane, but you can make it really thick and embed things in it. I'm planning on making charms for a bracelet. Check out what others on Craftster have done with it - someone made a bar-top with it. After seeing other people's stuff- I knew I had to give it a try.

oh, i learned the hard way not to try to fudge it when it's too cold (or damp!). it takes weeks to set! and it stinks way to much to try to do it inside.

this sounds like a great swap, while packing to move i realized that i had accidentally bought a duplicate of a great book, and i wondered what i should do with it.

but i'm away for the send date, and i'm not so sure i'd be able to get my addition done before i go! i still have a few more days to decide though......

Semi-lurking... I'll sign up if I can find a copy of my fave book! Or, more like, I might buy a new copy and send my old one...

If I don't end up signing up, though, I'd just like to say this is a really awesome idea! Cheesy

i thought you guys might be interested in www.bookcrossing.co m  the basic idea is you leave books somewhere with an id number in them, and when someone finds it, they log the id number in, read it, and leave it somewhere new.  you can also see what books people have left where in your city, state, or country.
