There is an idea I've had for awhile and now I'm at a point where I can put it into action.

There are anywhere between 5-10 festivals, craft shows, weekly markets and the like within a 60 mile radius of San Antonio and Austin, where I live. I've been wanting to make some extra money by selling some of the purses and jewelry I make but there are times I cant decide which place I want to sell at that week, or find some places rent large booths for large amounts and I cant see myself paying for space I don't need, even if it would be at a high traffic event.

So, this is how I came up with the Texas craft collaborative. I'd like to get a group of artists/crafters of various mediums to form a team of sorts to allow people like me to get better deals on supplies, pool together to get better visability, work together on projects, and to, in a way, be several places at once when it comes to getting products to the public.

Say there are a couple shows one weekend.  We'd pick the shows we wanted to do and we'd split the rental costs (so, if there is one show and the cost is $100 and 4 of us wanted to have some space at the booth, it would be $25 each, or if there are 2 shows, at $100 each and 4 of us wanted to participate, thats $50 per person to have their stuff at both shows.).   Whoever could work the show, would (and maybe those who work the show would pay a little less).  All the items would be tagged with an artists code so that we'd know who sold what and how much eash person would be owed.

I have 4 rectangular tables, 2 EZ up style tents so we as a group could use those.

I'd like to start this soon since the holidays are coming up.  I know there are some small shows in the Austin area that still have space available for early November shows.

I'm willing to work with people within, say, an hour of Austin (so San Antonio up to Waco).

Anyone interested?

If you're still thinking about this, I'd like to talk more about it.  I just moved to San Antonio, and I would love to find a way to sell some of my stuff.  Let me know if this is still in the works.
