Here's the one I was working on (my first try at cutout handles) when Craftster died the other day.  I was following the tutorial and had to put it on hold until this morning.

Whatta ya think?

Front and back (I used different cuts of this fabric for the different pattern views):

Lining detail:

The canvas material I used for the exterior is leftover fabric from my living room curtains.  I wish the pictures had come out a bit better because it's a really nice, rich chocolate brown.  The lining is a brilliant royal blue too.  Damn flash!

So, does it need something?  I feel like the outside needs something.  I was going to add a nice wide red ribbon detail and decided against it last minute.  Now I wish I had added it.

The cutout handles weren't as bad as I expected.  They're a lot straighter than they look in the photos.  It wasn't my favorite bag to make so I don't know how many more I'll be working on.  Trial and error, I guess.

Thanks for lookin'!

And hoping for an early death you swam so far you lost your breath, and struggling in the ebb and flow I took your hand, but you let go...
And now the ocean fills your lungs, and now you've got what you had come for, resting peaceful as you sink to drown under a sea of strangers.

I see a really nice, sparkly white or pink broach in the middle of that design there.

I love that fabric!

Thanks everybody!  You guys are all so nice!

If I remember correctly, I got the fabric from www.jcarolinecreative.com, but I'm not sure if they still have it.

I actually just checked and they do still have it.  I wish I had waited a few months because now they carry it in black and red too!  Damn!  Anyway, it's a good, heavy-duty material.

So, thanks again!  I appreciate the compliments!
