Oh my god you're awesome.  As is the skirt.  I love the style of ruffle you created.  I think it would look good if you decide to change the look later just by putting that red fringe over it.  The current ruffle would peek out from underneath.

I like the way the the black waistband and ruffle provides a frame for the skirt- and man, you did a great job on the ruffle- the pleats are so welldone, especially considering the stretchiness of t-shirt material. do share your tips, o wise one.

thanks! i will say this: an iron and quilting pins are your friends. iron copiously. even if it would be faster not to. even if it looks like you don't have to. i'd also recommend a sewing gauge (which i didn't use, but realized that it would've made life A LOT easier right after i'd finished pinning all the ruffles into place).
