12x12 cardboard backing support with junk mail, catalogs, teledata wire, fabric samples, drink  box package and piece of tape measure I found in the street.

I had a lot of fun just in the process of assembling this. Based on a log cabin quilt block with a star.

This certainly isn't anything like your grandmothers quilts! I love this, a lot! Excellent use of colors and textures!

If you like this kind of quilt pattern to actually construct a quilt -- take a look at a book by Gwen Marston called "Liberated Quiltmaking".  I found it at my library and decided to buy it later.

She gives a lot of techniques for taking the right angles out of many traditional patterns to give a folk art or ethnic feeling for your next quilt. The less precise requirements of the techniques make quilting less intimidating and more artsy.

Anyway... Thanks for the kind comments. Happy crafting!

I was thinking your piece had great warmth, then I read about the quilt pattern... beautiful!
