I don't think I'm the only one for whom this is the first craft post and the first challenge. This was so much fun! My 11-month-old daughter and my cat even helped.

My inspiration was a fortune cookie wrapper and my daughter, whose room is bedecked in bumblebees. Now we have a new piece of art for her room!

We used the box that held a case of water from Costco, which we rescued from recycling in the garage, for the "frame." A nice flat piece of cardboard also from Costco became the canvas, so to speak. Most of the collage is torn paper from clothing catalogs, also awaiting recycling. The small bee is from the inspirational plastic fortune cookie wrapper, and the big bee's wings and antennae are embroidery thread scraps. I put various other scraps of paper from the catalogs on the sides of the box, as well as the plain white backs of a few receipts that were cluttering up my purse

Hopefully I do the pictures right.

Thanks for looking!

I really like it, what a fun bedroom your baby has!

Thanks! It was a way to avoid the standard themes... I got very few "theme" gifts for her baby shower, so we got useful stuff instead. Smiley

That's got great character.  I'd love to see a shot that gives a bit of perspective--on a wall or next to a few things.
