Yay, my first craft challenge, AND my first ever collage.  Grin

Okay, here's the before picture of all the stuff I found at various places. As you can tell it ended up completely different from what I planned.

And here's the finished collage

Without flash

I used a piece of cardboard, painted two corners and used pages from an old roses calendar on the other two.  One of my favorite wedding pictures in the middle, printed out.  The red pages w/ handwriting is where I wrote out our vows and a poem that was read at the wedding, then copied it and blew it up (on scrap red paper, yay!).  There's an invitation (we had like 30 extra). A dried rose from a bouquet I got a few months ago, I was about to throw away the roses too.  I also used more of those stems as a border on the top left handwritten thing.  The names are stitched in black.   I also used a flower that was part of the wrapping on one of the bridal shower gifts from my mom.   The two rings I used those plastic rings on plastic water bottles and painted them silver.    The heart is left over from when I made our card box, the box fell apart and I took all the save-able stuff off and kept it.

More details.

The most interesting thing is how it all came together.  First I had a fall color scheme in my head, sad that it wouldn't be the colors we had at the wedding, but I was working with what I was finding.  THEN last night, as I was finishing it up I realize it's red and ivory/white, the same as our wedding.  Plus roses, which were the main flower, and my favorite flower.

I'm so glad I got to do this, my inspiration was the hair-dye samples, even though it didn't work well w/ the design after all.  I was planning on using it on the photo as me and my husband's hair.  Wink lol.    I've been wanting to do something for our wedding forever, a cross-stitch, embroidery, and who knew it would be my first collage.

There's a little spot near the rings, it's just a spot of glue that hadn't dried yet when I took the picture Smiley heh.

Thanks  Smiley I made it for my husband as an anniversary present.  I hope to find a shadow box so it won't get dusty, but we'll eventually hang it up in the hallway.
