Last week when I was sorting out my photos, I found a bunch of fuzzy, out of focus pictures of the desert and some other scenes of Saudi Arabia (my family and I used to live in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. My parents worked for an oil company there) from I think it was 1990 or so. I was just going to shred the pictures because I culled out the good ones, but then decided to use them for this challenge. All I did was rip up the photos based on the pictures and the colors.

What I tried to do was make it look like a sunset. I remember seeing the sun look like a huge orange ball resting on the horizon. The colors I remember were brown, a little blue but mostly the giant orange sun. I found some pictures of our Christmas tree in Saudi that had the right color to it, and then I added a bit of paint to all the layers...a bit of dark brown for the bottom, light brown on top and then the blue for the sky. I think it turned out okay. It actually really looks better in the photo than in person, because you can't see how blurry the photos really are. That photo of the Saudi man is really not in focus at all, but it looks fine in this photo.

I love the arrangement!  Esp. the car driving off in the background and of course the sun...

I think this is really terrific!  I like that you used your own photos instead of cutting stuff out of magazines and papers.  I also like the torn effect on the collage pieces--it adds a really nice touch.  Super job!
