OK so I might be overloading you all with pics, but I'm just so darn excited about finally having a digital camera!!

Here's some coasters I made from tiles (10cmx10cm) that I found at the back of a cupboard in the flat we're renting.. hope my landlord doesn't mind... Roll Eyes
I used some porcelain paint, a porcelain felt tip pen and this porcelain liner paint tube thing I had left over from a personalized mug phase I went through!

The faces are dingbats from the font 'The Kids', the flowers are Marimekko, the horse I have no idea where I found, the flower is another dingbat and the circles are my own.. (!) I attached some thick felt bits underneath so they wouldn't scratch the table.  After 'firing' in the oven according to instructions I spray painted them with matte spray varnish for added protection and easy wiping off after use.

Have no idea what to do with them as I don't really use coasters, but they were really fun to make and they'll probably end up as xmas presents...  Cheesy

Wow!--those are great, Scandibird!
So which method did you use to get the faces on? I already downloaded the fonts...If you don't mind, now what???
Thanks for the great idea--

Cheers people! RachElephant, I printed out the images in the size I wanted them and used carbon paper (like the one you put between invoices to make a copy) to trace/transfer them on to the tiles, then just filled it in with the pen. It does take a bit of accuracy and a steady hand, so I'd suggest practicing a bit before you start on the actual tile. (If you have to wash it off again you also have to trace it again...) Make sure you post pics when you're done! Smiley

Greaatt coasters!
I just love them.  I think you don't have to use them as coasters, you can just hang it on your blank wall as a decorative art.  Just an idea Smiley

Those are great!  I also like the idea of hanging them on the wall for ALL to see!  Great job!
