so i have a masked ball that I am going to -- and i either have to start from scratch (loads of talent (with mom's help), not much time, even less money....) or use one of two bridesmaid dresses to start! (i have no qualms about destroying them, they'll get more use this way!)

RED: a red satin long dress, spaghetti straps, fabric sortof gathered to one side of the waist, A line skirt. also has bolero style jacket.

   ideas so far: Devil.

BROWN: chocolate satin long dress, wide straps sit on corner of shoulders, fitted top, A line skirt.

ideas so far: Tree, wood nymph/fairy, mother nature...

any other ideas? or great ways to modify/accessorize these?? (i'd love to take out the zipper in the red and make it a corset style!!)

definitely needs to be on a budget, but mom is amazing with a sewing machine, also has kick ass embroidery machine!

A friend of mine was Carrie one year, she wore an ol prom dress and stood in the shower while we poured fake blood over her head. It was sticky but awesome.

you could always go the fairy route with your dresses and make a really cool pair of wings out of pantyhose and wire hangers.

for the red dress...make yourself a cape, wear a crown and be the queen of hearts?

prom queen?

i dunno just throwing soem ideas out there.

thanks - i appreciate all ideas!!

someone at work was talking with me about the tree idea, and we came up with the idea of a tree in the 4 seasons... i'm liking that and trying to play with ideas. or maybe i'll just be gaia since it's a witches ball anyway!

but i think the red will be something devilish and sexy for a weekend in salem with friends on oct 22!!!

You could add flames and a red veil, and be the bride of satan

You could wear either bridesmaid dress as a knocked up beauty pageant contestant: Miss Stake!

ohohoh! i live the miss. stake! ... or you could do the whole dress up really pretty but then put on some bruises and cuts and be miss. treated or something along those lines. or what i would personally do is go as prom queen but make it look like you slit your wrists and have fake blood all over your arms and soe on your dress and put on a really white foundation and dark circles around your eyes!

when you decide what you are going to be post some pics! i wanna SEE!!!

Holy crap, I am totally trying to get my band to dress up as the pageant ideas! I'm a little twisted. I want to be Miss Carriage, and our (male) singer should be Miss Shapen or Miss Leading! This is killing me, I just hope the band goes for it! THANK YOU TINNA BONE!
