Like a lot of people, I tend to get my pics from Google. The problem I've noticed is that sometimes the images are on the small side and when I blow them up they get distorted. Does anyone have ideas on how to enlarge them?

This post is a little old, but I just found out that you can search for images by size on Google using the google advanced image search. Maybe everyone else already knew this, but I didn't and it lets you search for images according to size, so it is really easy to find the big images that make better stencils. That way you don't have to deal with distortion. Also for enlarging, Microsoft Publisher works very well for me.

http://www.freewebs.com/stencilry is pretty impressive

"http://www.livejournal.com/community/stencil_swap is also not that bad, they often have links and things even non-ljers can see. they also have some pretty great ideas.

hope this helps

speaking of the unseen... does anyone have a stencil/idea that I can use? I made an icky shirt with just a plain unseen logo on the front and I kinda hate it now. what can I add to it?! the shirt is green with white and the bottom & sleeves, and the logo is white. I'm thinking of doing the spiderweb thing on the logo in black and maybe something else too? I've run out of creativity.

you know, that's exactly what I was thinking. I think that that's what I'll do. maybe deconstruct it a bit too. plus I might wanna have the first part of scream out somewhere on it, because I fucking love those lines.

the unseen= great

hah i know ALL the words to that song. that used to be like my favorite song.

"well all my life this music saved me
i cant afford your therapy
my fusteration it needs release
cut me open and hear me bleed
playing punk keeps me sane
i dont need drugs to numb the pain
it keeps me alive i hope it helps you
i wont let your worthless america ruin me
NO WAY!!!"

"im screaming out somebody listen it feels so good this therapy"

that is one of thier best songs...im obsessed with it. i think you should paint (acrilic paint or kid paint works best) some of the lyrics on the back of the shirt in slashy capital letters but not straight up and down sorta tilted a bit, splatter it with black house-paint(it works greak because its so thin) then ruin it a bit with a nail file or something...and uhmm lemme think....

woah, i got a little carried away there sorry...i saw the shirt in my head and was thinking of all this stuff and um yeah...sorry lol.

but it sounds like its gonna turn out amazing.

i HAVE to see this shirt when youre done with it!!!
post pictures!!!

I second Stencil Punx. When I first read your post I thought it was ABOUT that site, that's how rad it is. So livingin77, give your friend my prop.

You can always also do what I do, which is go to websites like PunkStuff.com or AngryYoungAndPoor.c om and just save the image of the band shirt, it up really big like, and make your own stencil. As long as you can tell what the stencil is you don't need it to have that much detail. I basically make all my shirts that way; the only "real" band shirts I own are from shows.
