i knit the bubby bear from this months knitty http://knitty.com/ISSUEfall05/PATTbubby.html

i think that he turned out pretty darn cute Smiley
i had thiner yarn so i knit him up on size US#3 dpn's. he turned out to be about 6 inches high. the yarn was an angora acrylic blend that i picked up at a yard sale.

(i linked the image from my blog. if you can't see it you can check there http://babyburger.blogspot.com/2005/10/baby-knits.html

Very cute, it looks like a snowy white polar bear!

I also made my own "Bubby,"  but I renamed him Waffle... just because. I also used US 4 needles because I didn't have and #3 DPN... and I'm cheap.  Tongue

And I'm even working on a second one for a friend, although I accidentally used #2 needles this time, so he's kinda tiny!  I'll post pictures when he's done.   Smiley

That's really cute, but I've gotta say I absolutely love the baby booties, too!  (I had to go to your blog to see the pics.)  They have to be the cutest, daintiest little booties I've ever seen.  Beautiful work!

Very cute Bubbys  Cheesy
I just made mine too, too bad I have no black yarn, so he's still faceless. I knitted him a red scarf so that he doesn't stay naked  Grin

I think that his head is not round enough though...

I finished my first bubby over the weekend, and I was sad to see that his arms stuck out so far...I was sure that he looked just like a voodoo bear.  So I knit him some armpit gussets.  I also knit him a scarf...and I had a lot of trouble getting the feet to look right, and i finally just gave up. Did anyone else have feet trouble?  I'll post photos of my bubby tomorrow. Smiley

Sometimes it's knit and sometimes it's crochet.

All of these Knitty Bubbys are so cute. I'm glad to see how everyone's versions are coming out. I usually try to knit up every "bear" pattern I see because they are all so different and creative. I'm definitely going to have to add this one.

Here's my bubby!

And here he is chillin' with Mr. Dangly. (They're close because they were knit from the same skein...)

here's my bubby(actually now sent to new home as a gift!)....made from chenille....which was much harder to knit with than i thought it would be!

if i had thick yarn i'd make a huge cuddly one of him!

(sorry for the giant pictures!)

Your Bubby came out so much better than mine.  I need to loosen up my initial cast-on so he doesn't look like a fat bear trying to suck in his gut. Tongue

I liked how all of the bears turned out different... i wonder if they all resemble their knitters, kind of like dogs some times resemble their owners? hmm. the world may never know.  well here are some photos of the bear that i wound up giving my mom for this past mother's day (i finally got the pictures off of my camera, yay procrastination!). Anyways, i even knitted him a cute little sweater.
