hi there,

i am just rebuilding my site and have decided to start making toddlers clothes along side by usual line of items. the thing is, i bought a pattern for a dress and made two identical ones for my twin nieces. a friend of my sisters commented on how lovely they were (blue, with appliqued clouds) and wanted to buy one for her daughter that was 4. now my twin nieces are 2. how on earth do i alter the patterns? i am totally at a loss as to how i might do this. im a pretty experienced sewer but would like some help considering i will probably be asked to do all kinds of custom sizes, and i dont have a clue how to do custom sizes so i get the measurements perfect. any help? thanks

if it were me, i'd just go buy the pattern in the correct size for the order! don't know where you live, but in the U.S., many fabric stores have patterns for half price (or less) on a fairly regular basis. or you could find a multi-sized pattern and trace off the different sizes so you'll have a variety. i haven't made clothing in a buncha years, but multi-size patterns were pretty easy to find several years ago.

PrairiePrimitives is my eBay ID. I tried to put a link here, but it didn't work. Sad
