Give me a week or two to go absolutely cuckoo.

I was inspired by the two places I spend the most time (Work and Home) and the one thing they both have in common besides me. . . .CAFFEINE.

My department throws away an inexcusable amount of products related to coffee everyday.  I contribute.  I'm guilty, too.  At home I drink coffee and tea both every day, so I throw away the same kinds of things.  For several weeks I saved every used coffee filter and tea bag I could, plus coffee stirrers and used coffee grounds.  I didn't even have room to use them all.  They're still piled on my dining table.

A good view of the three dimensionality. . .

Close up of the filters that I twirled together to make flowers (I stapled them into position, then hot-glued them onto the canvas)

Detail of my tea-bag bug

Coffee stirrer stems and rescued grass from when the landscape guys came and whacked the plants to hell. . .

Detail of used coffee grounds.  Originally I mixed them in with the paint, but when it dried it all fell off.

Hanging above my mantle.  Sorry it's such a lousy picture, but I wanted to show the scale of it. . .

So that's it!  Thanks for looking!

Oh my. That is gorgeous. I can think of several local (and I know you're local!) cofee-houses that would seriously dig this on their walls. You've outdone yourself. I
 am so impressed.
