Thanks so much for the detailed and informative tutorial, moonunit.  At work I always have a candy dish out for my co-workers and go through lots of large bags like the 12-14 oz. size with mini bars of Snickers, one pound bags of M&Ms, etc.  Gotta start remembering to cut them open carefully from now on!

Thanks for the explanation of Ramen! We have things like that over here, but they're usually really nasty and fake. *sob*....

I made one out of york peppermint patty wrappers for a friend--this one was a lot harder because the wrappers ripped easily and wouldn't lie flat. You can't see it that well in the pic, but they are still very metallic silver-looking, even with tape on top

Great idea! I have tons of Japanese candy and food wrappers that I've been saving because I love the packaging so much. Now I know what I'm going to do with them!!

Cool bags!

I think the closest mainstresm UK equivalent of the Ramen is the horror that is Potnoodle.  But if you check out any Asian grocer, you will likely find instant noodles in similar packaging
