Why are we buying stuff to send? I'd much rather send (and receive) two or three crafted items.

Not to be rude, I just don't understand where this came from.

we're not.
i put that in case someone wanted something along the lines of candies or a small item that was specific that was not craftable. that's why i put craft preferred.

no problemo.

i thought for a little extra inspiration i'd post a couple links for some neat bags / ideas. having grown up predominately in new york, i miss all these stores. it's agonizing seeing so many beautiful things and not being able to shop there anymore! ugh. BUT that's where craftster comes in. so many beautiful people making beautiful things. i love this site.

bags:

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/jump.jsp?itemID=78&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=77&iSubCat=78
http://delias.com/browse.do?categoryID=416
http://secure.giantrobot.com/search_results.php?keywords=bag&submit.x=0&submit.y=0

online shops: *these are other crafty ladies who work hard to make what they do. please don't make exact replicas of their items, just for respect. i'm sure nobody would do that anyway Smiley

http://www.stitchpixie.com/

hopefully all those links don't time out by the time people read this.
hope that proves for some inspiration!

xoxo

jaami, ah, good idea to link to all of those sites! I grew up in the USA as well, and I have a lot of trauma about not being able to shop for certain things anymore -- although my regrets have more to do with candy (ohhh American candy, how I love thee!) and kool aid. GDFKDLFLFLFL stinking kool aid - I never WANTED the stuff when I lived in the USA, but now that I'm not there anymore, I NEED NEED NEED it (although I still don't want to drink it... blech).

Ahem, pardon the off topic ramble...

Off topic too, but if you really need some US stuff there's always this place,
http://www.usafoods.com.au/index.php
I've bought "kool aid" from them for dying wool (and cinammon candy as I love it far too much, mmmmm Jolly Ranchers cinnamon fire.... Roll Eyes). they have a shop in Melbourne too but I've had a really easy time ordering online.
Just thought it might help.  Smiley
