That sounds cool.
I just moved to Modesto and haven't met anyone crafty yet.

Knit, crochet, kirigami, some sewing, some book-altering.
Basically a little bit of everything.
Sometimes I think I have craft-ADHD.  I have a tendency to start a million projects that I never finish.
What I'm working on now: a "police line - do not cross" knitted scarf (ala magknits Crime of Fashion), a quilt made out of neckties, a kirigami piece based on a Japanese woodblock print, and probably several others that have gotten buried in the clutter.
I have been wanting to try lace knitting, and have some beautiful yarn that I got at Purls & Girls in Turlock.  But must finish something before I start another project.

How about you?

Oooh I love that store. My friend is trying to teach me to knit, but every time we've gotten together we end up drinking too much to really get it Tongue
I'm into sewing, painting, gourmet cooking, decoupage, gardening, and eventually I will get knitting down.
We are trying to set up some sort of "craft club" to meet like minded people, will let you know if we get it off the ground!

hi. so i thought i would see if there was anything local on here since i am obsessed with craftster and was surprised to see someone i recognized.  i don't really know you but we went to high school together and i know who you are because you were friends with becky ronge too.  my name is julie (corgiat) freeby.  what kind of group are you starting?  i like to knit and quilt and i want to learn how to make clothes.  i can sew some other stuff mainly by trial and error.  anyway, it was just weird to see someone else from turlock.

Hey I remember you!! You have fabulous red hair right? (hopefully I'm not thinking of the wrong person...  Embarrassed)
Well, so far its just me and my friend and we are both in Turlock. I'm hoping we can get a few more ladies interested and then we can organize something- like a once a month thing-and we can learn something different each time or just hang out and each work on our own thing. I'll send you a PM when we get something going if you are interested!
