hi all,
i started thinking about costumes a while back, and was considering making a Japanese Street Fashion costume. However, what i didn't know, was that i was going to be invited to a halloween party (costumes necessary) on october 15. so, now all i have is a vague idea that no one will understand anyway... and about two weeks to get it done.
i have tons of scans picked out, but i really need ideas!
can anybody help me?
thanks!

do you have an idea in your head of what you want it to look like? are you going nornal street fashion with crazy clothes, tights, boots, and technicolour or extreme with a theme like street fashion goth?

we can work with this. you said you have scans picked out, do you want to copy a scan to the last detail, or steal bits and pieces from each of those, or come up with a totally new costume?

then, we need to decide, what's going to be the bulk of the outfit. are you wearing a dress, or pants, or a skirt and shirt?

then what color scheme are you planning on wearing. say you have some awesome socks, but will they match the skirt you have? and what about shoes? will the socks be seen over your shoes?

once you answer those questions, i can help you.  Grin

i recommend thrifting, also.

layers, layers layers.  that's what i always liked about a lot of the people in fruits.  so many layers!
bright tights with fishnets over, and bright stripey knee socks on top.
maybe make a petticoat, with a bright patterned skirt on top. bright long sleeve top with a short sleeve top over it.
lots of rings, bracelets and necklaces, and a wild, ridiculous purse.  a bright scarf.  mmmmm bright colors....

thanks, guys!
i mostly wanted to steal bits and pieces from various scans... i think that would be the coolest.
i was thinking of wearing a skirt and a shirt, it seems like many of the FRUiTS girls wear that (although it's hard to tell under all those acessories! Grin )
and all i've been thinking about for colors is just to have them all be bright... there's no problem with matching skirts to socks or anything like that, because, well... i don't have anything yet.
once again, thanks for all your help, and i'll be sure to post pictures when it's finished!

awesomeness. i would go with a skirt and a shirt, then on top of that maybe a blazer of sorts. like maybe a plaid sort of color? those blazers are really in right now and i know you can find one at sears for like, $15. go with some bright tights, with knee highs over those and then thigh high fishnets on top of that. boots, or vans, or some outrageous converse. loads and loads of necklaces, and every bracelet that you can find. think retro 6 yearold plastic bracelets.
hope this helps
