Anyone from the area of Desoto County/North MS???  Would love to be able to chat about local events and crafting!

Hmmm... I'm from Oxford.Cheesy Not too far away. (I don't want to be here, though. I HATE OXFORD. I liked Tupelo more...Cheesy)

Yep, not far away.  Tupelo is nice....Oxford is ok.  Are you going to school there?  What sort of crafting do you do?  I like glass and tile work, painting odd things (like switch plate covers and picture mats currently), making jewelry (recently into using fishing lures).....whimsy mostly, nothing really artistic.  I did work with PMC for a little while but it really is expensive and I went back to my beading.

Lots of festivals in the area coming up.  A few friends and I will be in Olive Branch at Mayfest in Old Towne on the Saturday before Mother's Day (5/12).  (Stained Glass, Monogramming, Misc.)  The BBQ fest is going on in Snowden Grove in Southaven but I won't be attending that one.  Come on up!!  Would love to meet another Craftster in North MS!!!

I'm responding about a few years too late to this post but I'm new so...

I live in Horn Lake, MS and would love to chat about local happenings, especially quilt-related stuff. Speaking of which, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art has a quilt exhibit until May (I think). Not a lot of quilts but definitely nice variety and workmanship.

I live in Marshall County-so DeSoto County is right next door! Actually I live about 2 minutes away from the Marshall/DeSoto line-right outside Olive branch MS!

You're right next door!

My quilt guild meets in Olive Branch. Have you been here long? I just moved here in January, and would appreciate any info on the area, esp places to take my girls this summer!
