is it ok if i were to send a pillow unstuffed? they shipping cost would be so much cheapper.
i was thinking that i could put a zipper in one of the seams, so the receiver wouldn't have to sew anything (and it would help with future cleaning).
if i were to do it with a zipper and no stuffing, should i send some money so they could buy stuffing? or is that not necessary?

It all depends on how big the pillow is, I recently sent a 12x12 pillow and the shipping cost was only a dollar or two more (a lot less then what they would spend on the stuffing/pillow form).  I would ask your partner though, because sometimes it can be hard for someone to get out to get the materials needed.
