Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook, by Debbie Stoller.  It's an awesome book! You can find it at Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0761128182/104-6802165-1719113?v=glance or check at your local bookstore.

stich and bitch was a christmas present from my mom, who found the title hilarious, and I love it.  One of the best knitting books I've ever read.  Plus, Debbie Stoller from Bust is amazing.

When God made the arse, he didn't say, 'Hey, it's just your basic hinge, let's knock off early.' He said, 'Behold ye angels, I have created the arse. Throughout the ages to come, men and women shall grab hold of these, and shout my name!

Right now, the membership special at www.onespirit.com is 5 items for $2, plus shipping and handling, but then you have to buy 4 more items within 2 years.  I have a love/hate relationship with book clubs, and prefer a shorter commitment.  So, as we speak, I'm signing up with "Crafters Choice" bookclub, which is operated by the same parent company as onespirit, but with a different selection of books.  The membership special there is 4 items at $1 each, plus one item at $9.95, plus shipping and handling, then you only have to buy one more thing within a year to complete your commitment.  I'm getting Stitch 'n' Bitch, along with several other lovely-looking knitting books, but of course, as the name of the club suggests, the selection is not limited to knitting books.  I saw some other really great-looking books, but have opted to use this opportunity to fill out my knitting library, since I just started and don't have much.  So, if you're like me and love getting all the cheap books at the beginning of a bookclub membership, but hate the part where you have to buy a bunch more later, I'd go with Crafters Choice.

Smiley   Hi I just found this site, and i finally got a copy of Stitch n Bitch. I am looking forward to making some of the projects in the book. I am making a Fair Isle sweater for my grandson, so must finish it first.  Shellizabeth
