I got the most FANTASTIC package from gaiter_girl today!!  It was so friggin exciting... I can't even begin to explain how excited I am.  Inside there was all sorts of cute, homemade stationary as well as a fabulous portfolio made from a Grease album cover.  Not only that, but she included both of the original records, which survived the trip completely intact!  I swear she must have been stalking me, how else would she know that I own a record player, I love grease and that I'm a super disorganized person and needed someplace to keep track of all my decoupaging pictures?  Creepy, huh?  Also, Kristyn, too cheesy!?!!?!?!?  As if that could ever be a remote possibility... I might be the cheesiest person you've ever met.  I love it, thank you!  I'll post pictures when I get a chance, because it's such a cute and clever idea.  It's a good thing I've got two more months because I feel like my first package was severely lacking compared to this one!

Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

bluesparkie,

I'm soooo happy you liked the package.  I just remembered that when I was really into decoupage and collage I tended to have all these cut out images laying around on my floor and thought that a portfolio would come in handy.  The Grease album cover was PURE luck...I was at my neighbourhood thrift shop and saw the Grease records in amongst the "Rudy Goldstein sings the classics" and "Frank and his Happy Polka Players" albums.  I grabbed it right away because it seemed perfect (who DOESN'T love Grease?!?) but I didn't realize you had a record player...I was thinking more along the lines of you might want to make those record bowls.  I suppose listening to them would be more fun...  ;o)

I'm super pleased that you liked it.  It was really one of those things where I felt like I had a good idea but when I started to work on it I started to become really doubtful (I CANNOT be the only one who goes through that).

And seriously, I LOVED the stuff you sent me.  The CD's are great, just what I needed for my commute (although I laugh maybe a little too hard when listening to the CD with that David guy...I should perhaps save that for when I don't need to concentrate on the road).  And the cards are fantastic.  I'm a bit of a letter writer although I was starting to fall out of the habit...the stationary you sent me definitely reminded me to get my butt back in gear.  I'm going to post pics when I can *ahem* find my digital camera but seriously, thanks so much...it was a GREAT package!

Could this be David Cross you speak of?  He's one of my favorites!

Sewwabisabi

I had to google the guys name to be sure but no, it's not David Cross.  It was a compilation of readings by David Sedaris.  Seriously...they were tooo funny.  I had to stop listening when my eyes started tearing up since I love my car too much to crash it.

But I have to wonder...do I live under a rock?  I had never heard of David Sedaris before and I've never heard of David Cross either...  I need to get out more.   Embarrassed

Ahh yes, funny man David Sedaris.  I love his books.  They're always entertaining & laugh out loud funny.  His stories are like the Cheetos of stories, they're so yummy & you've finished the book before you know it!
