actually no!  at first i tried using the knitting to crochet conversion charts,  hoping it work and i could make all those cool things that only have knit patterns. Buuut, that didnt work so well, lol. but i had started making these fingerless gloves a while back http://www.crochetandknitting.com/mitglov2.htm
and that ribbing seemed like a good replacement for the rows on that knitted panta. so i just kinda made up a pattern, lol.

here it is before i connected the ends...

and after...

it is a little loose cause i crocheted it kinda loose and it stretches, but i dont know if i would want it tighter, i think i like it.  it was a little long, so i overlapped the ends more than i thought i would.

the colors are waaaay prettier in real life, they re lime green, lemon yellow, and light blue.

I love it!!!! Those colors look great on you!!! How did you get it smaller on the ends? Pretty ingenious, by the way, using the ribbed patternfor the fingerless gloves.....I would never have thought of that Grin

pickles, would you be able to make a crochet pattern for this? it looks so awesome, all the knitted ones and your crocheted one! i cant knit at all, so id love to be able to crochet one myself (and expand my crochetability beyond scarves) and not have to ask my mom to make one for me! i will love you forever if you can make a quick tutorial!

WELLLLLLLL, if you'll love me forever....lol  and since you have Kronk as your icon...

i made sure to write down what i did as i went along in case anyone else wanted to crochet one. Craftster has made me much more diligent about writing down HOW i do things, lol. which is really great, since heck if i remember what i did the next time i try to replicated it, lol.

OK, my panta ended up being too long and i had to overlap the ends about 2 inches. aaand, i have a big head so i reccomend you chain until it fits your head.

what i did:
size k hook, sugar'n cream worsted 4ply cotton (that's what the package says i dont actually know what it all means, lol)

1) ch 70
2) sc across

the rest of the pattern will be crocheted in the back loop only

3) *sc 10, hdc next 13, dc next 24, hdc 13, sc 10*  =70
4) repeat step 3, 10 times, tie off
5) slip stitch ends together
6) put on, admire handiwork Smiley

simple, eh?

using sc then hdc then dc gives you the smaller sides and larger middle. so as you modify this to fit your head, just make sure you still have scs, hdcs, and dcs, just fewer of each.

working in the back loops gives you the ribbed look. i dont remember which side i have facing out, lol Huh go with whichever you like, lol. also, for mine i have the first row of sc's at the back of my head, nearer to my pony tail, because it seems a little tighter. i guess the sc's dont stretch like the dc's.

lemme know if you make one! or have Qs!
