homespun yarn died with kool-aid..

knitting it up..

All done!!

so nice and snuggly..(^_^)

Another shrug also with homespun but it was pre-died .

Materials:
Aprox.... 240 yds medium weight yarn
Half the amount of eyelash or other novelty yarn
Size 11 needles
Size 35 needles

Instructions:
With size 11 needles, cast on 48 sts. (or an amount that looks the right width to you)
Row1-3 knit
Row 4 carry along one strand of eyelash yarn
Rows 5-6 drop eyelash and knit with main yarn
(when u get to the side of the knitting where u dropped your eyelash yarn... twist it with your working yarn to carry it up the side of your work)
*Pick up and carry along eyelash yarn every 3 rows or where it looks good through out*
Row 7-9 With larger needles, Knit
Repeat rows 1-9 ending with the 6th row for about 40" or until it wraps comfortably around your shoulders.
dont bind off yet. Pick up 40 sts on cast on end , lay out wrap and twist it. hold both needles together and do a 3 needle bind off. I use a crochet hook to link the stitches together.
Finished!!!

I hope that makes sense

Now, that is beautiful! Shocked I love the yarn color and the style of the shrug.  Is that an original pattern?  That is my favorite style of shrug I've seen of all the others on the boards.  Big round of applause for you!  Well done!!  Cool

as a fellow kool-aid dyeing afficianado, i'd like to know what colors you used. the green is likely lemon-lime, right? there are few kool-aid flavors that are green, and it's too dark to be green apple ice. now, lots of flavors make pink... maybe strawberry.... but there's really too many to guess. awesome shrug! what's the eyelash you double-stranded with?

crafting is something i do when life doesn't present me enough ways to dye my hands funny colors.

Yes i used lemon-lime for the green a bit watery.. and i used pink lemon-aid for the pink with a few crystals of any blue color. I mixed it in one cup of water.
