Baking crystals/beads are beads that you arrange, then put in the oven to melt into one solid piece of plastic.
They are supposed to be for making suncatchers, but i kinda started screwing around

you can get them at http://www.guildcraftinc.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=584-102

it's sooo easy- just make a tinfoil shape and bake at 350 for 20 minutes( depending on how solid or bumpy you want it to be)

wow, that red flower is beeeee-utiful! i have to get some of those beads!

i cant really tell, do they look like beads after they have been baked? like beads melted together? or do they look like a solid piece of plastic?  i am thinking the first one but it's hard to tell from the pic

THANKS for sharing!

that is pretty cool. i agree though its a little confusing as to what they turn out like. and do you thread them and just let the thread be in the melted beads?

how beady they look depends on how long you let them bake and how similar the colors you use are. You can string if you find a hole, but most likely, you have to glue something on the back to attach the string to.

wow. that is a crapload better than having those little molds and having your mom iron them, and then being mad when they break because they're too thin. and i always hated the hole. (for those of you who dont know what i'm talking about, i must sound crazy.)

Wow.  It's like grown-up Make-and-Bake Oven!  So, who else can still sing the jingle from the commercial for that toy?  Ha.  Good times.

My mom still has a butterfly that I made as a kid.  Probably about 25 years ago.

I lover the flower one!  I can't really make out the others.
Cute idea.
