i'm super cautious about starting projects i've never done (i.e. i have disgusting perfectionist tendencies), which is the reason i ask so many questions! (i researched different methods for bread-making for weeks before i tried it and now i just wing it everytime i make it!)

here's my question/dilemma:

i'm going to paint my radiator in my room to match by bed spread.  i'd like to paint it a rusty red with a golden yellow crackle/marble look.

how do i go about doing this? i've thought about lightly sponging on the gold after painting it red, but i would rather to that crackly look.

go to your local paint store.  They have a product (Im not sure of the name sorry) that does just what you want.  Basicaly you put your base coat down then the crackle, wich is like a glue.  After that dries then you put your top coat on, your top coat will crack and your base coat will show through.  This works realy good, I just used it on a tree for props, and it worked beautifuly!
