Has anyone made a Rocky Horror costume? I want to be Columbia for Halloween, and my boyfriend is probably going to be Eddy. But Columbia costumes are too expensive. Any ideas?

Just dressing up for Halloween, but I think we're going to a show in November, so I'll probably use it for that, too.

I have a photo of my uncle dressed up as frankenfurter burned in my memory. Ah how it haunts me. My friend dressed up as magenta last halloween. Goodluck!

i guess if you couldn't make the corset and shorts, you could always cheat and wear the pyjamas and micky mouse hat she wears in one scene. or look in charity shops for look a likes...

My friend dressed as Columbia two halloweens ago. I bought a strapless, backless black bra and painted it with glittery puffpaints, old fishnets, pretty shiny boots, easy-to-make biker shorts and a short bob wig. Sure, I had most of the stuff lying around, except for the bustier ($2.00 at a thrift store) and the puffpaints ($1 a piece and four bottles.) Don't forget stage makeup!

Magenta easy, circle skirt with lace underskirt, easy apron, backcombing the hair, stage makeup, a feather duster, show plenty of cleavage.

Eddy's fun. Use old (barely-fitting) jeans, rip up a jean jacket to become a vest, blow-up saxophone, permanent markers, ripped-up tank top and you're good.

Go here - http://www.angelfire.com/nj/RHPSColumbia/index.html

I helped put a show on and a lot of people used this for help.

Don't forget her gold glitter bowler.  Spray adhesive and a pound of glitter should do it.  Wink
