the other day i got a TON of floss at the thrift store near my house for two bucks, so i decided to see if i could still remember how to make friendship bracelets. so old school!! since i'm a total harry potter nerd, i decided to make one bracelet for each hogwarts house: red and gold for gryffindor, silver and green for slytherin, yellow and black for hufflepuff, and blue and bronze for ravenclaw.

i really need to get a better camera. these turned out pretty awesome, but the picture quality is so terrible it doesn't do them justice.

all four:

closeup (gryffindor got sort of cut off, oops)

ps they're really not all uneven, i swear!! they are just a little bendy because i had been trying them on.

no, it was SO super easy!! i learned how to make them in like fifth or sixth grade, and i used to make them ALL THE TIME during recess with all my little friends, and i guess it is just one of those skills that, once you acquire, it never leaves you. kinda like riding a bike, haha

Great job! I love anything to do with Harry Potter. I used to make those friendship bracelet things..I think I still remember how. I can't believe I never thought about doing house color bracelets...I've always wanted a house color scarf but I can't knit. Thanks for the idea and the ones you made are really nice!

I know.  I did want to ask you what was the length for each floss? (and did you use 3 of each color?).  I want to start making these again.  I tried using a 12-inch strand, but it was wayy too short.  This is for the Hufflepuff one.  Thanks.

i just measured the length from my fingertips to my shoulder, doubled that, and used that for the length of each strand, if that makes sense. for the ravenclaw bracelet, i used two dark blue strands, one light blue strand, and one bronze strand. for hufflepuff, i used two black strands and two yellow strands. for slytherin, i used two silver strands, one dark green strand, and one light green strand. for gryffindor, i used two gold strands and two scarlet strands.
