I finally finished the poncho for my niece, Emma, a few days ago and I was really happy with how it turned out.
The pattern was from an old Family Circle (with Rebecca Buddig from "All My Children" on the front cover) and it was the first time that I did any type of v-neck increases or binding off in the middle. The patch on the side of the poncho was the impetus for the entire thing as I fell in love with it (87 cents at Wal-Mart) and decided to make something around the patch. The yarn was an incredibly soft Red Heart yarn that felt wonderful but was a pain to knit with. Anyway, I hope my niece can use it in the fall and I can't wait to see pictures of her in it.

Cheers,
Jill

Love it!  She's going to look very cute in it.  All that brown hair and all.  Makes me almost want to have a girl.  Almost.

If I make Keegan a new sweater, I'm going with cheaper yarn.  Maybe not?

I love the poncho!  I have that magazine and I loved the pattern.  Looks like you did a great job.

Aww! That looks great!

For those of you who would like to try this but can't find the pattern greenchick used, I've made a few hooded ponchos using Lion Brand's free pattern: http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/lionbrand/index.fcgi?page=http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/kts-1108AD.html

It looks quite similar.
