I have been watching this thread for a while and I finally made my first sha sha dream bag (i say first because it was so easy i will definately make another).  Mine is made from a blue and white quilted floral fabric remnant, and an old chambray shirt for the lining.  I embellished it with a yo yo flower.

I made two about two weeks ago, thanks for posting such a clear tutorial, my sewing machine and I are still on the getting to know you level. I'm pretty sure that we always will be. The pink one is for my three year old so I didn't use interfacing, I also snipped that thread in the pic I just noticed,it's been used exclusively for toy carrying. The blue one is for my eight year old, I used batting and made an attempt at quilting the outside. The lining is a little wonky because I didn't cut it small enough, she loves it anyway. I was going to throw on some yo yo flowers too. Basically like craftyandnappy's, I think we are on the same page, just your sewing skills are far better Alright the pictures,

I just got 3 bags of vintage material: someone was cleaning out their mom's craft room, I guess.  Anyway now I have a project to do with all of it!  Matching wallet and purse, here I come.
