On that "Dress Up /Paper Doll" Fabric:
It's at Michaels- sold in prepackaged Fat Quarters (by Craft Makers)!  Background color choices of pink or beige.  chrissy.eew:  For enough "pretty please's" and I'll pick it up for you and mail it to you.  That's how badly I don't want to see you pout!

On the "Using Office Brads for Feet":
Yep - they are rock solid; don't wobble a bit.  Now that they have all those cool brads for scrapbooking, I have a variety of shapes and colors!

For everyone else - get sewing and post those pics!  I can't wait to see them.....

Are the finished bags kind of tiny?  I just tried to make one and it came out really tiny.  Like child-size.

i don't mind saying, i think this is one of the best tutorials ever. it's so clear and easy to follow sure, but the composition is just priceless.

"Using a squooshing motion (and sound effect), smash newly sewn edges flat against the bottom opening.  This will be referred to as the purse ass end.  Pin.  Repeat on other side.  Sew a straight line, again allowing inch.  Remove pins.

Using one of your husbands drumsticks, turn the newly sewn handle right side about"

hysterical. i'm going to make one tonight. or tomorrow perhaps, and then i'll post up!

I agree. One of the most entertaining too.

I've been trying to decide between various types of purses for a swap, and I've decided on this one. I think it's going to look gorgeous.

Wierd - how big are your hands??!!  The final dimentions of the above purse stands 6 inches tall & 8 1/2 inches long.

yay! here is the one i made last night.

I left the dimentions at work, so i had to try to remember last night. the dimentions i used were 8 x 10 box, the triangles stuck out 1.75 inches, and the bottom angle went up from the corner 1 inch. the space in between was 3 inches. (1.75 minus the .25 seam allowance times two)

i did mine a bit differently though, i left the hole in the bottom corner and pulled it through. i have better luck with the top edge looking nice when i do it that way. Also, rather than put the card board in between the outside fabric and the lining, i used a piece of matching fabric covered cardboard and put it inside, so it's visible.

also, if i haven't got an inside pocket, the incidentals take over my life, so that's where chap stick, spearmint gum and change purse go. it also matches. oh, and my favorite purse closure ever, i use it whenever i can, is a hair elastic and button.

i'm quite pleased with the result, except i'll do the handles more sturdy next time.
yay, buglake! what a good post you made in the first place!
