there is this pottery place near me, and you can paint pots and they fire them for you.

here's one i did... its not quite how i would have liked it, but hey.

I love it! Did it not turn out as detailed as you had liked? Its really hard with the paint used to make fine lines, they end up getting all smushed together.

Those paint-your-own-pottery places are amazing, but a little rough on the pocket. Here's a link to a plate I did..

WOW i love the plate
i know, i think after paint fee's and stuff mine was about 23
yeah they started off purple but it looks awful so i went for the real dead look of black but if you look close there is a textured line that gives the outline
