vinyl and denim tote i made for my 12yr old niece

I gave it to her without the scarf belt, I just wanted to see what it looked like. I was trying to sew a vinyl trim on the denim handles but couldnt. Vinyl is not easy to sew through unless material is ontop or your sewing on the wrong side. Has anyone had problems with vinyl, how do you sew through it.

Anyhoo, she loved it and Im happy . I welcome ally comments.

Very nice, I might try it myself.  I like it with the scarf.  I sew a lot of vinyl and they all react differently.  It's trial and error, so practice on a scrap first.  Sometimes all you need is to lengthen the stitch length.  A teflon foot is also good because it glides along and does not leave scrape marks like the metal feet sometimes does.  Or, it could be the needle.

I really like the idea of combining denim parts and vinyl. That might open up a whole new kind of stuff to make.....hmmm. Great thinking !
