Made from this pattern http://www.littleturtleknits.com/pithyhat.htm

I used Lion Brand's Wool Ease in blush heather.  Eek that looks like a big hole in the second pic but it's not lol

Sorry for the crappy pic. It's my first hat! I'm excited!

hi there - nice hat, you've inspired me to make one. Problem is, I've discovered that purse stitch isn't exactly the same stitch as the one pictured here: http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/0316654/DF-06861R.jpg?path=gallery&path_key=0316654 - in this hat the yarn-overs line up, but in purse stitch (or any other YO stitch) I've tried, they always sit on the diagonal. Can anyone identify this stitch, or is it a matter of changing technique? On one blog someone asked whether the stitches would line up if you alternated ssk with yo on every other row. I've been looking all over the web with no luck, finding things close, like this: http://knitting.about.com/library/blpillar.htm but nothing that matches...

Also - I'm knitting this one flat, not on circs, but I've looked around on the web, checked for flat knitting purse stitch, so I'm sure that's not the problem...

Yeah, I knew as soon as I started knitting it but I still liked it. I still love MJ's hat. I hope you find a pattern.  IF so let me know lol

Nope, I know I messed in some places but the pattern is very forgiving.

Oh, I wondered what that would look like in a solid color.
It's great! Very ambitious for a first hat, I think.

I just finished my version! I used the same pattern, in Lion's Brand Wool Ease. This is the coolest hat I've ever owned!  Grin

Here's Pic 1- I just had to get my kitty in the picture
