My best friend's husband is a total motorhead, and their 2 year old loves to watch him work on cars. I would love to make her a mini pair of coveralls, like mechanics wear, with a front zip, long or 3/4 length sleeves. I will probably embellish with ruffles at the pant hems, etc. I have searched for a pattern, but can't find one. I even tried looking under costumes. Nada.

Any suggestions? I did find a Butterick pattern (4337) for zip up jumpsuit jammies (with or without feet) that I might be able to modify but: A: I want a collar and B: knits only. I want to use lightweight denim or twill.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a pattern for coveralls in Kwik Sew's toddler book.  Click Sewing for toddlers

Thanks great! I can see the main book page and details, but I get some weird "cold fusion" error when I click on the number. I will see if I can find it.
Thanks again,

try looking in Old Navy..i just bought a pair of mechanic style coveralls there for my 2 year old..they're grey with patches on them, which could easily be removed..they were in the clearance section..i think i like $9 for them...
